Amy,

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, I am a single mother of two opening my own daycare. I am doing well, but am interested to know if there are any grant programs available to single mothers opening a business. And if so, what the requirements would be etc.. I dont know if you know anything about this but anything would be helpful.

Thank you,

Chrystal

Dear Chrystal,

That's great news about your business.

What you are eligible for are grants from the Small Business Administration (Editor's note: see also the SBA's Online Women's Business Center) that are specifically geared toward women business owners. Also there are grants through the Ms. Foundation for Women, which does economic development grants to women. One of their grantees is Acre Family Day Care based in Lowell, MA and run by a great woman, Anita Moeller.

Good Luck,

Amy
