Through LANACare ecological wool products, she found the perfect outlet for the combination of her talents. With the success of the nursing pads, she expanded her line to include infant clothing and blankets. Each product is designed to promote health and well-being. No pesticides have been used on the fields where the sheep graze, nor have any harsh chemicals been used to wash the wool. This keeps the wool pure and natural, retaining its natural lanolin content, and thus the many unique properties of wool.

Natural, untreated wool can absorb up to 40% of its own weight in moisture before feeling wet. As the wool absorbs moisture, its natural lanolin is converted to lanolin soap, which has an antibacterial effect; it cleanses the wool and removes odors. Even when wet, wool feels warm – whether in a cold or warm environment, wool maintains a comfortable temperature next to your skin. Wool’s natural fibers breathe, unlike synthetics. And wool is naturally flame-retardant, without the need for any chemical additives. Of those considering themselves allergic to wool, most actually react to the chemicals used to extract the natural lanolin from the wool, rather than the wool itself. No such chemicals are used on the wool in LANACare products. And the wool has been tested to show that it does not contain dust mites – a growing concern as a cause of allergies.
