Feminism has evolved. Technology has evolved. It's time for Feminist.com to evolve, too.
As we commemorate our 25-year anniversary in 2020, Feminist.com has been hard at work strategically planning the evolution of the organization. We wanted to give you a preview and invite you to invest in our vision forward by making a donation.
We’ve come a long way since Feminist.com launched 25 years ago when all webpages were grey, Netscape was the only browser, and few people knew what the Internet was or had a home computer. At a time when 85 percent of internet users were men, Feminist.com was a first-of-its-kind central hub for leading feminist thought leaders—e.g. Women’s Media Center, MomsRising, Nobel Women’s Initiative—and the first official web home for leading women’s organizations—e.g. Ms. Foundation, V-Day, Girls Inc., Equality Now. It was a digital destination for networking, discovering new resources, and amplifying unheard voices in the feminist movement.
Since the 1990’s, the women’s movement has evolved and it’s time for Feminist.com to evolve with it. That’s why we are committed to leveraging our URL, network, and history as a convener to create a platform for open dialogue, move the national media narrative, and drive collective action toward political, economic, and social equality.
As we look forward to the next 25 years, our mission is to make Feminist.com the home for feminism online by building a digital infrastructure that can convene and amplify diverse feminist voices, and support and unite the modern feminist movement towards greater activism, inclusivity, and equality of all genders.
We have big plans to celebrate our 25-year anniversary, including a refresh of our website. We hope you will consider donating to Feminist.com to help us grow and leverage our work and seed the re-launch of Feminist.com as a shared platform that will help unite the feminist movement towards collective action and ultimately gender equality.
Feminist.com 2.0 will be of our community, by our community and for our community. To get there, we need your help. We want to co-create the future of Feminist.com with you.
