I was just reading in the Ford
Foundation's
newsletter that they have committed a lot of
money to affordable housing -- not based on family
composition, but income and need. Perhaps you
can access their website and see if there are
local resources you might tap into.
There is
also Habitat
for Humanity -- availability in
most states. I don't know that your single mother
status would be the reason you would qualify
-- though being a female home owner should be
a bonus and also head of household can't help.
