Hello,

I am interested in finding info about grants from the Violence Against Women's Act. I live near a trail where 2 women were attacked and raped. This trail does have areas that are dark and I think grant funding for lights is needed. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank You,

Jean

Jean --

I would recommend that you reach out to the local domestic violence agency, which you can access through (800) 799 SAFE. They already have the infrastructure for grants, etc....

Plus they might know more specifically what is available in your state. I do know that the Violence Against Women Act does provide monies for keeping women safe -- and applies to communities, campuses, etc.... But those grants are very bureaucratic, but worth it, if you have the patience. I believe they are administered directly through the Justice Department -- but again, the local agency will know.

Good luck -- it's a great idea.
