Two
years ago I was travelling through
Greece and during that time
I was physically assaulted by
a Greek man. Since then I have
tried to seek out a support
group which focused upon women
who have been assaulted during
their international travels,
sadly, my research has proven
to be unsuccessful. If your
organization could provide me
with any information regarding
emotional or legal support on
an international level, I would
be very appreciative.

Thanks
for your note to FEMINIST.COM.
I think that you should consult
some of the women focused travel
guides for more information
about "what to do while travelling
and being assaulted." They are
likely to have a section to
this effect and appropriate
references listed. For instance,
you should reference books by
Thalia Zepatos--for example
A Journey of One's Own:
Uncommon Advice for the Independent
Woman Traveler. There
is also a website
by someone named Holly Morris,
which is targeted to women travelers.
The U.S. Embassy and/or consulate
is also a good place, but they
can sometimes be weighed down
by bureaucracy.
