What percentage of the world's engineers are women? What percentage are men? I don't know the stat, I am curious.

Thanks for your note to FEMINIST.COM. According to statistics from 1996-1997--women are only 8.6% of all engineers in the United States. (These statistics come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). I imagine that this number will quickly increase--for one reason Smith College has the first engineering school for women--that attention alone is likely to spark other interest. I hope that helps.
