In
1980, Polly Helm stumbled over an archival
image of an authentic pioneer rodeo
cowgirl, an image which eventually led
her to a mid-life career change, and
the evolution of her venture, Pendleton
Cowgirl Company, Inc. From that initial
faded print, Helm's collection has grown
to include the publication of over 80
images of pioneer rodeo cowgirls. Each
one includes historical text. Known
as the Pioneer Cowgirl Series, the collection
is available in notecards, art prints,
calendars, and other gift items. These
images are available on our site to
send as electronic postcards for free.
