Although it is supremely comfortable, the smell that it exuded for the first week or so was nearly intolerable. It permeated the sheets and my hair and just made sleeping on it nearly impossible. I have scoliosis, so a comfortable and supportive mattress is of the utmost importance to me, but when I learned about the toxic chemicals that the memory foam is made of, I quickly began researching greener alternatives.

The delightful wealth of information and plethora of products available to eco-minded individuals seeking a healthier way to sleep was amazing, and I soon found myself narrowing down my choices for a natural latex and wool mattress completely free of chemicals, pesticides or fire retardants.

I was so pleased with the natural mattresses and the luxurious sheets and bedding ensembles that I wanted to share them with the world and help increase public knowledge of the harmful chemicals in our bedding and other home furnishings that are not only standard but mandated by our government. And so Harmony Bedding was born.

As a one-woman enterprise, I primarily sell products on my website, but my five-year plan includes opening a retail storefront so I can share the experience of these glorious mattresses, pillows and sheets with visitors to my store.
